Join naturalists from the Bird Alliance of Oregon on an incredible trip through the lush lowland rainforests, volcanoes, mountains, and coastal wetlands of Costa Rica. More than 800 species of birds have been seen within the borders of this small country. To conserve this diversity, almost 30% of Costa Rica is contained in  National Parks and Reserves, ensuring that it will be protected for many generations to come.

Pacific Northwest Trip: The Sandhill Cranes of Othello *FULL*

On this three-day, two-night adventure we will explore beautiful landscapes, from the basalt columns of Columbia National Wildlife Refuge to the gorgeous vistas of Saddle Mountain. We’ll have good chances of seeing Long-billed Curlew, Tricolored Blackbird, Loggerhead Shrike, Chukar, Sagebrush and Vesper Sparrow, and Sage Thrasher, and of course thousands of Sandhill Crane!

On this three-day, van-based tour, we’ll explore the avifauna and natural history of the East Cascades, Columbia Plateau, and Blue Mountain ecoregions, searching for Williamson’s Sapsucker in conifer-dominated forests, Lewis’s Woodpecker and Ash-throated Flycatcher in open oak scrub, and Sage Thrasher and Vesper Sparrow in the sagebrush steppe.
