Join Bird Alliance of Oregon on a five-day tour to Malheur National Wildlife Refuge located in remote and beautiful southeastern Oregon. Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is a world-class birder’s paradise. A variety of habitats, including extensive marshes, sagebrush flats, riparian thickets, and rimrock support a diversity of wildlife. Field birding and natural history are the focus of this exciting five-day program.

We will explore the Elliott State Forest and Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Ten Mile Creek Sanctuary – two of Oregon’s old-growth forests, providing critical habitat for imperiled species like the Marbled Murrelet and Northern Spotted Owl.

Steens Mountain is one of Oregon’s most spectacular natural areas and it is beautiful in the fall. On past trips we’ve seen approximately 80 species of birds including Townsend’s Solitaire, Mountain Bluebird, American Pipit, Horned Lark, Northern Goshawk, Golden Eagle and Prairie Falcon.
