Reducing Wildlife Hazards
The number one cause of bird declines in the United States and Worldwide is habitat loss and fragmentation. Portland Audubon focuses the majority of its time, energy and resources working to protect and restore habitat for birds and other wildlife.
However, there are also other very significant threats to birds that add even more pressure on top of habitat declines. Portland Audubon has developed several innovative campaigns to address the most significant anthropogenic (human-caused) threats to birds and other wildlife and to promote wildlife stewardship.
There are lots of exciting ways to get involved in these campaigns volunteering for Portland Audubon and implementing strategies to protect wildlife around your own home and neighborhood.
