In 2010, the Audubon Society of Portland opened a satellite branch at Leach Botanical Garden. Through this partnership with the garden, we have greatly extended our programming and advocacy in the east Portland-metro region. The East-side Branch now offers bird and natural history classes, walks, presentations and summer camp for youth.

Leach Botanical Garden
Known as "Portland's secret garden," Leach opened to the public in 1983 as a partnership between Leach Garden Friends and Portland Parks & Recreation. The 17-acre facility includes towering trees, walking paths and a native plant collection, which contains plants that occurred naturally within Oregon's borders prior to European settlement.

About the East-side Branch
The Leach-Audubon partnership is part of the Audubon Society of Portland's efforts to diversify and strengthen our organization, and effectively advance our conservation and education mission in the coming century. Through new collaborations and greater geographic accessibility, we hope to reach an increasingly diverse and public transit-dependent population, and to help inspire the next generation to love, protect and enjoy our region's unique nature heritage.
