Team Starlight
We’ll start the day on Sauvie island, hiking the 2.8 mile trail at Oak Island looking for local favorites like Savannah Sparrow, Tree Swallow, Bewick's Wren, Spotted Towhee and hopefully finding more elusive species like Lazuli Bunting. We'll wrap up the hike around 12 then head over to Tony Starlight’s home in Scappoose for a picnic and more casual birding. Tony lives in a floating home community on Multnomah Channel and will feed everyone a lunch in his communal picnic area. We can also pick up any missing species like Belted Kingfisher, woodpeckers or any birds floating down the channel.
Tequila Mockingbirds
Join the Tequila Mockingbirds on a Nature Store Birdathon adventure! Nancy, Janet, McKenzie, and Nature Store volunteers will guide you along the western suburbs of Portland looking for fantastic birds. We will meet in Hillsboro and hit numerous birding hotspots throughout the area. Along with urban and suburban park landscapes, we will also be birding in some great wetland areas. Birds we expect to see include songbirds and sparrows, hawks, waterfowl, shorebirds, woodpeckers, and more! A minimum of $45 in pledges is requested.
