We’ll explore brownfields (contaminated sites in need of cleanup) along railroad lines and pockets of protected habitat nestled among the regions aging fossil fuel infrastructure along the Willamette. The trip will include up to a mile of walking as we search for wildlife that has become well adapted to this highly altered landscape. The trip will be led by Portland Audubon Conservation staff and will include discussion about Portland Audubon’s past and present work on issues like Superfund, Willamette River Greenway, Fossil Fuel Infrastructure, and Brownfield Cleanup.
