Ankeny supports large concentrations of geese and ducks during the winter and Baskett Slough's grass fields provide forage for wintering goose flocks, including Dusky Canada Geese, a subspecies that winters primarily in the Willamette Valley.

Meet at 6:45 am at the Tualatin Park and Ride on the north side of Lower Boones Ferry Road, 45.396925, -122.748686. Dress warmly.
