Mar 7 (Thurs), 6-8:30PM: class at Portland REI Store, Community Room, 1405 NW Johnson Street, Portland, 97209

Mar 9 (Sat), 9AM-Noon: Field trip to Smith and Bybee Wetlands

Not everything that swims is a duck!  Join avian enthusiasts Nicki Dardinger and Greg Smith to learn more about the waterfowl that makes the Portland region their winter home. After our time in the classroom diving into natural history, such as adaptations, habitat use, migration, feeding, and courtship, we will take a field trip to Smith and Bybee Wetlands to look for Ruddy Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, Pied-billed Grebes, Ring-necked Ducks, American Wigeon, American Coots - and so much more. This class is perfect for beginner and experienced birders alike.

Fee for Class with Field Trips, limited to 14 participants per session:  $50 members / $65 non-members 
(Event Type = Adult Class with field trip)
