Snowshoe Hares to Polar Bears (1st-3rd Grade)
Document Actions
Have you ever wondered how the smallest birds handle the winter weather? How about the largest bears? Would you choose to have feathers or fur to survive harsh conditions? Or would you travel to a warmer climate? Come spend a day journeying within the Audubon Sanctuary, exploring the amazing and unique adaptations that animals use to cope with the harsh winter weather. We’ll scour the woods for animal burrows, dens, tracks, and other signs that give us clues into the winter lives of the Portland creatures. We will end the day working with the Audubon specimens that can teach us the most about the wonderful world of winter animal survival.
