Willamette Bald Eagle Returns to the Wild in Downtown Portland
On Sunday afternoon the clouds cleared and the sun came out just as Deb Sheaffer, the Wildlife Care Center Veterinarian, and Lacy Campbell, the Care Center Operations Manager, arrived at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland with the Willamette Bald Eagle.
On Sunday afternoon the clouds cleared and the sun came out just as Lacy Campbell, the Wildlife Care Center Operations Manager, and Deb Sheaffer, the Care Center Veterinarian, arrived at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland with the Willamette Bald Eagle.
Hundreds of Oregonians gathered to watch as they released this large female back into the wild.
We put together a short video to show you her journey from rescue to release, a wonderful example of the kind of work our Care Center staff do everyday to save the lives of Oregon’s native wildlife.
Thank you to everyone who came out! And if you’re interested in supporting the Wildlife Care Center, bid on fantastic items (many of them one-of-a-kind experiences) in our Call of The Wild Auction or make a donation here.
